Food & Drink At The Rising Sun, the ethos in our kitchens is to let the ingredients do the talking. Our chefs keep things blissfully simple, knowing that great dishes are easy to come by when you’re using the very best produce. Virtually everything here is homemade on the premises, with fresh ingredients sourced from local independent producers and suppliers. Fresh fish and seafood is delivered every day from the south coast, our beautiful British beef heralds from a trusted local farm, game comes from Milland valley and our fruit and vegetables are either grown in the village or come from the Sussex countryside. The freshness of our ingredients makes for ever-evolving menus that change with the seasons. Usually though, you can expect to find a bar menu packed with comforting classics (including fish and chips and tender steaks), healthy salads and veggie dishes, alongside a blackboard menu reflecting fine cuts of meat and game and fresh seafood. There’s a special children’s menu too, plus two great weekday offers (Ladies ‘wot’ Lunch & Early Bird) – helping to make The Rising Sun one of the best-value places to eat in The South Downs. Please note, bookings are required at busier times. On Tap Left London Pride The UK’s leading premium ale, London Pride is known and loved for its well balanced, distinctive flavour.
